Nation’s Leading Scorer Takes on UConn in Big East WBB Title Game
Welcome to Championship Week in college basketball! Tickets to the NCAA tournament are being punched every day in both men’s and women’s college hoops as we approach Selection Sunday. Two more teams will lock up their bids on the men’s side tonight, and we’ve got a high-level showdown in the Big East women’s tournament championship game to look forward to as well.
Here’s what I’m watching today.
MUST WATCH:
Women’s CBB, Big East final: No. 10 Villanova vs. No. 7 UConn
UConn is getting healthy at the right time, with star guard Azzi Fudd back from injury and the Huskies inching closer to having a full team available with just a week before the NCAA tournament. Tonight, they take on the nation’s leading scorer in Villanova’s Maddy Siegrist, who’s averaging close to 29 points per game and scored 37 of her team’s 63 points yesterday in semifinal action against Creighton. The winner tonight takes home the Big East tournament crown and adds a quality win ahead of Selection Sunday.
